An April 28, 2004 post by Sally Brown to genforum/Wyatt states :

" I recently sent for a copy of the document that Nathan's wife had filled out when she tried to get a widow's pension for his service in the War of 1812. After much scrutiny and using a magnifying glass, I realized her last name was Felton. It DOES look more like " Foltsie " at first glance, but looking closer and comparing it with other written words on the paper, it can be deciphered. I invite other interested descendants to check it for themselves."

I also looked at this document. Her name definitely is not "Pelky." I strongly agree that "Felton" is the most reasonable reading of it. She is said to be 93 on the date the pension application was filed, 31 Jul 1871.

There is also possibly a babtism record 15 Jun 1777 here:

In Reply to: Mary Felton - Mercer County by Jerry

In the Mercer Co. Archives Vol. I (Deed Book I) is the following entry:

A-1-186 Aug 10, 1804. Thomas Felton to Nathan Weyate, $110.00, a tract in Mercer County on Shenango creek inteh 4th districk of donation lands. 100 acres bounded east by "corner of my track, on which I now live", west by Thomas and John Cannon. Ack: Thomas Felton and wife Mary. Rec: Jan 5, 1805.

In the Mercer Co. History, 1888, I see Nathan Wyatt mentioned on page 592 as an early settler in Shenango Twp., and on page 632 as a Shenango Twp. official (an overseer) in 1813.

On page 148, Thomas Felton is in the list of taxables for 1800, and is a township official (an appraiser) for Shenango Twp. in 1806.]--Lynne Nuibe at http://genforum.genealogy.com/pa/mercer/messages/684.html
