" Daniel Felch, the common progenitor of the Felch Family in NewHampshire, and Northern Massachusetts, in Vermont, and Western Ohio, settled in that part of Seabrook New Hampshire which was included withinthe jurisdiction of Hampton Falls from 1721-1768, sometime prior to 1730. " I find his name, with the prefix " Doc. " enrolled on an inventory of theseveral polls, and estates in Hampton Falls, taken in 1742, pursuant toan order of the General Assembly, against which his taxable estate, consisting of REAL and Personal property, is specifically enumerated withpoll or head valuation; at which period of time Mr. Felch was, withoutdoubt, more than seventy years of age: hence the exemption therefrom. "
" In the earliest mention we find made of him, he is styled " Doc: " a titlethat was not bestowed on ordinary persons in his time. Tradition saysthat he was a native of Massachusetts, and that he had certain relativesthen living in the vicinity of Boston, and that certain relatives of thesame name living in some part of York county in the State of Maine. "
Dr. Daniel Felch married Deborah Dean of Charlestown, Ma, who died in1715. He married second, Sarah Fuller, and third Hepsibah Curtis. Hedoubtless studied Medicine under some Physicians in or near Reading, Ma.
The old lady of Seabrook, an old inhabitant, could also remember " SkipperDaniel, " who according to her account was a wonderfully popular man, anda sort of Triton; she said: " he was a beauty in form and face, and no manaround could blow such a powerful blast on the trumpet
